                                  WESTERN KENTUCKY TORNADO RELIEF
ART FM Loves Kentucky.  We are so heartbroken over the tragic path of destruction that bulldozed through our state, turning entire cities into piles of rubble and debris.   We all want to help out but it can be hard to know where to start.  Below are some resources that we've been using for our on air Public Service Announcements.  If you have an organization or event to add, please follow this link: www.artxfm.com/psa

Team Western Kentucky Tornado Relief Fund
Governor Beshear has established the Team Western Kentucky Tornado Relief Fund to assist those impacted by the tornadoes and the severe weather system on December 11, 2021. Visit TeamWKYReliefFund.ky.gov​​ to make a tax-deducitible contribution.

Happy Hollerdays
A special collection of songs and stories celebrating the legacy and future of Appalachia with over 50 b-sides, live performances, bedroom demos, new releases, and special holiday covers from Kentucky treasures like Ben Sollee, My Morning Jacket, Joan Shelley, Bonnie “Prince” Billie, Heather Summers, and many, many. more. For a limited time, each artist has generously made these recordings available to lift spirits and raise funds for the Kentuckians uprooted by the tornado.  All proceeds benefit the recovery efforts in Western Kentucky.  Preview the collection by visiting: happyhollerdays.bandcamp.com 

WoodSongs Instrument Exchange
Many musicians in Western Kentucky have lost everything in the recent tornadoes, including their guitars, banjos, mandolins and fiddles.  WoodSongs, a 501(3) organization, is working to send musical instruments to those hit by the tragedy.   If you are a musician from the emergency area interested in receiving an instrument - or - if you are interested in donating an instrument to the region please email radio@woodsongs.com with the relevant information and the word TORNADO in the subject heading.

The Lee Initiative
The Lee Initiative is delivering meals and water to those affected by the December tornados in Western Kentucky as well as providing direct assistance to those in the restaurant industry.  Learn more and support their efforts at www.leeinitiative.org

Planned Parenthood of Kentucky
Planned Parenthood of Kentucky is collecting donations of diapers and feminie hygiene products for the victims of the December tornadoes.  Items may be dropped off at 842 S. Seventh Street in downtown Louisville through early January.

The Commonwealth Alliance Donor Table / Hood to the Holler
The Commonwealth Alliance Donor Table, Kentucky Civic Engagement Table, Black Leadership Action Coalition of Kentucky, and Hood To The Holler are raising funds to sustainably support disaster relief efforts in Western Kentucky. All funds raised will be directed to grassroots groups supporting short-term and long-term mutual aid and disaster relief for communities impacted by the recent tornadoes.  They will prioritize groups that serve Kentuckians who may otherwise be neglected by other relief efforts, particularly Black, Indigenous, People of Color, Refugee, Immigrant, and poor and working class Kentuckians. Mennonite Disaster Service - Volunteer
The Mennonite Disaster Service is a volunteer network that responds to those affected by disasters in Canada and the United States.  The Mennonite Disaster service is currently accepting donations and volunteer applications for those interested in assisting with tornado recovery efforts in Western Kentucky.  Get involved by visiting www.mds.org

Queer Kentucky
Queer Kentucky is offering releif to community members in Western Kentucky struck by the December tornados through their mutual aid fund. You can help by visiting queerkentucky.com and clicking Mutual Aid.

United Way of Kentucky - Tornado Relief
Kentucky's United Way network is working with emergency management, disaster partners and local communities to support services for families impacted by the devastating tornado event of December 2021.  To learn more and contribute to their efforts please visit uwky.org/tornado

American Red Cross - Kentucky Tornado Relief
Visit redcross.org or call 800-RED CROSS to donate.  Use the Red Cross Blood Donor app or text the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 gift.

American Red Cross - Blood Donations
The Red Cross is in need of blood donations for hospitalized victims of the recent tornados in Western Kentucky.   To find a blood donation site near you visit www.redcrossblood.org

American Red Cross - Shelter
If your home has been damaged or destroyed by severe weather the American Red Cross can provide assistance, please call 1-800-RED CROSS.  If you need a safe place to stay, you can find a list of open shelters at redcross.org/shelter

American Red Cross - Safe and Well
After a disaster, letting your family and friends know that you are safe and well can bring your loved ones great peace of mind.  The Safe and Well website is designed to help make that communication easier. On this site, operated by the American Red Cross, you can mark yourself “Safe and Well” or you can search for loved ones who have been in a known emergency location.  To register or search the site, visit safeandwell.org

CERF+ Artist Disaster Relief
CERF+ is a 501(c)3 mutual aid organization that offers emergency relief to artists working in craft disciplines who have experienced loss due to illness, injury or natural disaster. Victims of the recent tornadoes in Western Kentucky are encouraged to apply for financial assistance by visiting cerfplus.org

Mayfield Councling Center
The children and families of Mayfield need your help now, and Kentucky Counseling Center is collecting donations that will be distributed to Graves County school counselors and social workers.  Use this LINK to learn more.

Disaster Distress Helpline
The Disaster Distress Helpline, run by trained crisis responders, can help you deal with the range of emotions that may occur in the wake of a natural disaster.  This hotline, managed by the Kentucky chapter of Mental Health America, will provide a connection to someone who can just listen to your feelings or help you find treatment if it's necessary.  You can call or text them 1-800-985-5990.
